During this year’s Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in Riga, Latvia, several Latvian officials, politicians, and experts plan to address foreign parliamentarians regarding our country’s vision of global security issues. 
The Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) will be held from 28 May to 1 June in Riga, Latvia. Media representatives wishing to report on the event will need special accreditation.
According to Mr. Dzintars Rasnačs, Deputy Head of the Latvian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA), economic and energy security are the cornerstones of global security, and it is precisely these issues which are turning into the major future challenges for NATO. They will be some of the most significant non-military security issues which will be discussed at the NATO PA Spring Session in Riga at the end of May. 
During the Riga Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in late May, it is planned to involve volunteers. That will be an opportunity for them to take part in hosting a large-scale international event.
During the Riga Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA), presidential candidates of this interparliamentary organisation will be nominated. 
On Friday, 26 March, at a conference organised by the Baltic Assembly (BA), parliamentarians discussed joint measures aimed at stabilising the economies of the Baltic States and reviving competitiveness.
On Friday, 26 March, in Riga, the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly adopted a statement which says that introduction of the euro will provide greater stability for the Baltic States and improve prospects for sustainable growth. 
The Baltic Assembly (BA) invites works for the annual competition of BA Prizes for Literature, the Arts and Science to be submitted by 1 June 2010. 
On Friday, 26 February, the Public Expenditure and Audit Committee of the Parliament of Latvia (Saeima) met with Mr.Valdis Zatlers, President of Latvia, to discuss the use of the international loan.
On Thursday, 18 February, Mr. Gundars Daudze, Speaker of the Parliament of Latvia (Saeima), met with Ms. Irena Degutienė, Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. During the meeting it was highlighted that Latvia and Lithuania share the opinion that the Baltic States need to ensure their energy independence.
