Mandates of MPs of the 12th Saeima approved

On Tuesday, 4 November, during its first sitting, the new convocation of the Saeima approved the mandates for all 100 MPs. Sixty-nine of the new MPs have previous parliamentary experience, while 31 are first-time MPs. 
After each member gave a solemn oath of office, mandates were approved for 24 MPs elected from the Social Democratic Party Concord, of which there are three new MPs – Regīna Ločmele-Luņova, Jūlija Stepaņenko and Zenta Tretjaka. The remaining 21 MPs - namely, Valērijs Agešins, Jānis Ādamsons, Boriss Cilevičs, Sergejs Dolgopolovs, Andrejs Elksniņš, Marjana Ivanova-Jevsejeva, Andrejs Klementjevs, Ivans Klementjevs, Sergejs Mirskis, Vladimirs Nikonovs, Ņikita Ņikiforovs, Vitālijs Orlovs, Igors Pimenovs, Sergejs Potapkins, Ivans Ribakovs, Artūrs Rubiks, Raimonds Rubiks, Jānis Tutins, Jānis Urbanovičs, Ivars Zariņš and Mihails Zemļinskis - served in the previous convocation of the Saeima.

Mandates of 23 MP candidates elected from the Unity Party were also approved. Seven of these MPs - Aldis Adamovičs, Inesis Boķis, Rihards Kozlovskis, Anrijs Matīss, Edgars Rinkēvičs, Laimdota Straujuma and Juris Šulcs - were elected to the parliament for the first time, while 14, namely, Lolita Čigāne, Andrejs Judins, Jānis Junkurs, Ojārs Ēriks Kalniņš, Vilnis Ķirsis, Ainars Latkovskis, Atis Lejiņš, Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, Aleksejs Loskutovs, Romualds Ražuks, Jānis Reirs, Jānis Upenieks, Ilze Viņķele and Dzintars Zaķis, were re-elected. The mandates of Ints Dālderis and Kārlis Šadurskis, who have previous parliamentary experience, were also approved.

The Saeima approved the mandates of 13 MPs re-elected from the Union of Greens and Farmers - Uldis Augulis, Aija Barča, Andris Bērziņš, Augusts Brigmanis, Jānis Dūklavs, Rihards Eigims, Jānis Klaužs, Māris Kučinskis, Ingmārs Līdaka, Dana Reizniece-Ozola, Kārlis Seržants, Raimonds Vējonis and Jānis Vucāns. Another six MPs were elected from this list of candidates, namely, Guntis Belēvičs, Raimonds Bergmanis, Ainārs Mežulis, Artis Rasmanis, Andris Siliņš and Valdis Skujiņš, as well as Gundars Daudze, who was an MP in the 9th and the 10th Saeima, and Armands Krauze, who was elected to the 10th Saeima. Altogether, the Union of Greens and Farmers obtained 21 seats in the parliament. 

Mandates were also approved for 17 MPs elected from the National Alliance of All for Latvia! and For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK. Of these Gaidis Bērziņš, Andris Buiķis, Einārs Cilinskis, Jānis Dombrava, Raivis Dzintars, Kārlis Krēsliņš, Janīna Kursīte-Pakule, Inese Laizāne, Ilmārs Latkovskis, Ināra Mūrniece, Romāns Naudiņš, Imants Parādnieks, Dzintars Rasnačs and Inguna Rībena have previous parliamentary experience, while Rihards Kols, Dace Melbārde and Edvīns Šnore were elected to the Saeima for the first time.

The Saeima also approved the mandates for eight MPs elected from the Latvian Regional Alliance - Inga Bite and Juris Viļums, who were MPs in the 11th Saeima, as well as Mārtiņš Bondars, Arturs Kaimiņš, Nellija Kleinberga, Dainis Liepiņš, Jānis Ruks and Mārtiņš Šics with no parliamentary experience.

For Latvia from the Heart party will be represented in the parliament by seven MPs, namely, Ringolds Balodis, Gunārs Kūtris, Aivars Meija, Arvīds Platpers, Inguna Sudraba and Silvija Šimfa, who were elected to the parlaiment for the first time, and Romāns Mežeckis, who was a member of the 7th Saeima.
